Author Submission Guidelines:
Two Muses is currently seeking submissions for children’s picture books.
We are looking for original manuscripts with an international appeal that are entertaining, meaningful, and that leave a lasting impression. 
We wholeheartedly encourage Canadian talent.

We are ONLY interested in the following themes:
SEL (Social Emotional Learning): Identifying emotions, self-confidence, bravery, courage, perseverance, self-control, imagination. Compassion, empathy, appreciating diversity, respect for others, fairness, making a difference, taking a stand. Communication, relationship building (family and friends), teamwork, generosity, sharing.
Canada: Its people, traditions, geography, wildlife, unique aspects.
Empowered females: Inspiring girls to achieve great things.
STEAM Learning: (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) as access points to promote inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.

CRITERIA:
Manuscripts MUST meet ALL of the following criteria:
• Unpublished fiction or nonfiction.
• Picture books for children ages 1 to 8.
• 700 words or less.

EMAIL INSTRUCTIONS:
• Subject line should read: “PICTURE BOOK: (story title) by (author name)".
• Include a query letter with a synopsis of the story, and attach the full manuscript in a single, separate document (Word or PDF preferred). 
DO NOT send links to shared online documents. For security reasons, these will not be opened. 
• Include contact information and URL to your website, if available.
• Indicate in the query letter if this proposal is a multiple submission.
• Please DO NOT provide illustrations with the story text.
• Include only one submission per email.

We make every effort to carefully consider each submission we receive. If we are interested, we will respond within four months of receiving it. Please understand that we are unable to respond to follow-up emails. 
By agreeing to review a submission, we do not assume any obligation to refrain from publishing a book based on a similar idea, concept or story.
